Power Kit specs

Driver Loads and Cable Runs

The Power Kit specs page gives the working details for drivers, cables and electrical connections used with LED fabric frames. It is there for teams who need the right fit for a specific lightbox installation.

Power Kit specs are used to match the LED fabric frame size with the correct driver output, lead length and plug position. For retail and expo installations in South Africa, the sheet should also note whether the frame is wall mounted, free standing or suspended, because cable routing changes with each layout. Dust inland and moisture near the coast both matter when connectors and drivers are positioned inside a bulkhead or service void.

A first photo of the installation point helps identify where the mains feed enters and how the low-voltage cable must be dressed. That record is useful when graphics are changed later, especially on mall sites and expo stands where access windows are short. Include any existing driver labels or plug types visible on site so the electrical pack can be matched correctly.

Electrical details for frame kits

Set out driver rating, input voltage, output details, cable lengths and connector type for the frame being built. It can also record switching position, access side and any restrictions around the power point or ceiling cavity. One clear electrical layout is more useful on site than several loose notes spread across emails and handovers.

Check the Power Kit against the frame drawing, hanging method and print size before dispatch. Confirm that driver placement leaves access for future servicing and that cable exits do not interfere with the silicone edge graphic. Say where the power point sits and what wiring is in place when you write in through our contact form.

Site conditions affecting electrical layout

Mall fit-outs, expo builds and retail revamps often have fixed power positions that determine where the driver can sit. Older sites may have limited cavity space, shared circuits or access panels that open from one side only. When an existing frame is being reused, note the present wiring arrangement before any new Power Kit is specified.

In coastal regions, salt-laden air can influence where drivers and joins should be housed to reduce exposure. On inland sites, dust build-up around diffusers and aluminium profiles makes routine cleaning part of the maintenance plan. Load-shedding also affects test procedures, so illuminated checks should be done when stable power is available.

Driver and cable spec points

Send frame dimensions, mounting method, site photos and any known electrical constraints with the request. Mention whether the unit is single-sided or double-sided, as that changes LED load and driver selection.

Record the mains location, switch access and cable route while the installation arrangement is still fresh. Keep this spec with the project file so buyers, installers and print teams are all working from the same electrical details.
