Graphic Swap specs

Setup notes and briefing numbers for Graphic Swap.

Frame measurements before print release

Graphic Swap specs sets out the print dimensions, edge finish, and frame fit details needed for replacement fabric skins. Use it when planning new artwork for an existing LED lightbox frame.

A new fabric skin must fit an existing LED frame without guesswork. Record the visible size, finished print size, silicone edge depth, and whether the face is single sided or double sided. Retail roll-outs, mall promotions, and expo refreshes all depend on these numbers matching the original frame build.

A quick photo of one corner helps more than a marked-up layout on its own. Include the profile depth, how the old fabric sits in the channel, and any joins or cut-outs near plugs, feet, or hanging hardware. That reference reduces print errors when replacement graphics are ordered months after the first install.

Artwork details the printer needs

Replacement skins need final dimensions that account for stretch, tension, and light spread across the face. Note whether the graphic wraps to the edge, stops at a border, or sits behind an acrylic cover if the frame uses one. For illuminated retail visuals, image positioning must also avoid key text landing too close to the silicone edge.

Before sending files, compare the ordered size with the label on the frame or the previous job card. Check fabric type, edge finish, viewing side, and any special requirement such as door clearance, cable exit, or suspended mounting points.

  • Visible size checked against frame opening
  • Silicone edge size noted on file
  • Existing frame photo attached for reference

Site conditions that affect fit

Mall displays and expo structures are not measured the same way. Hanging frames need allowance for cable positions and viewing height, while wall units often need checks around plugs, shopfitting trims, and bulkheads. If the frame is being reused in Sandton, Durban, Cape Town, or a regional centre, confirm access limits before print goes to production.

Inland dust can collect in the profile channel and stop the new skin from seating properly. Coastal humidity may change how a stored fabric graphic handles when it is unpacked and tensioned on site. A lit frame should also be viewed while powered so banding, shadowing, or reversed artwork is picked up before the old graphic comes down.

Replacement skin briefing checklist

Send the frame size, quantity, intended branch or stand, and whether the old graphic must be matched exactly. Add photos of the full unit and one close-up of the corner detail.

Where possible, note any previous issue such as loose silicone edging, print sag, or artwork cropped too tightly near the frame. Keep the project record with the same fit standard noted for future graphic changes.
